I would like to thank you for your interest in The TAN Company®. My name is Todd Beckman and I am the President, CEO and founder of The TAN Company®. I became an entrepreneur in 1984 when I purchased a hair salon franchise at the age of eighteen. Two years later I added tanning equipment, which was my first introduction into the tanning industry. As the public’s desire to have that healthy glow grew strong so did the popularity of tanning salons. In 1994, I made the decision to focus my efforts toward the tanning side of my business and opened The TAN Company®. Our growth was rapid and our success still strong. I went from owning three locations to now having over 25 salons that I still own and operate which I believe is a huge factor to our success. We currently have more than 65 locations operating in 11 states and are on the fastest growth pace in the history of our company.
The equipment is continually changing, the skin care products improve every year and it is necessary to stay on top of these modifications in order to satisfy the desires of current and future tanners. One of the most valuable benefits to owning a Tan Co. franchise is that we have overcome the obstacles and learned from our mistakes so that you don’t have to face unnecessary challenges when trying to start a business. This is an ongoing effort and I am only able to make this possible through the efforts of the outstanding corporate team that I am proud to make available to my franchisees.
Five of the individuals on our corporate staff own multiple Tan Company franchise locations, so between us, we all have a personal investment and are constantly working on ways to improve the company to perform at the highest standards. Our entire corporate team, the majority of whom started in our tanning salons, is made up of individuals who have a desire to strive for perfection and dedicate their efforts to continually improve our corporation.
